VAN RIEBEECK INSTANT COFFEE

A cream and deep red panel over a black lower half. "SOUTH AFRICAN PRODUCT" runs between two stars across the top, above "VAN" in large black capitals and an oval portrait of a long-haired man in a white collar set against gold rays. Beneath the portrait, "RIEBEECK" in black and "INSTANT" in red sit on a cream band. The lower panel reads "COFFEE & CHICORY EXTRACT" beside a gold coffee pot pouring into a row of steaming cups marked "5¢ CUP", with the script "A delicious blend of finest coffee and chicory – rich in flavor and goodness!", and a strip along the foot reads "RICH IN FLAVOR • EASY TO MAKE • ECONOMICAL".
